The Houki Collection features unique hand-loomed textiles made by artisans from the village of Tehama. Two craftsmen work for over 15 hours on each piece to harmoniously and manually weave textile with decorations and colors, using a wooden loom and bright hand-dyed threads.
The Houki is traditionally worn by men around the waist, but these beautiful textiles can also be used as scarves, blankets, or even prayer rugs, making them versatile additions to your home.
Please expect slight imperfections as part of their unique, handcrafted nature. Initially, the textiles may have some dirt on them due to traditional production methods, which involve crafting them on the ground. They might also feel stiff because they are washed in the sea. However, over time and with regular washing, the textiles will soften.
When you purchase from the Houki Collection, your tapestry will be a surprise—each piece is hand-selected by our founder, ensuring that you receive a one-of-a-kind textile chosen just for you.
